Lourdes Murcia is the Assistant Director and Lead Patient Navigator at the Cancer Resource Center of the Desert. She has over 15 years of experience serving underserved communities in Imperial County, with a professional background spanning oncology navigation, hospice care, and medical social work. Lourdes earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from San Diego State University in 2023 and participated in a Global Health Education program in Oaxaca, Mexico. She has collaborated as a research assistant with UC San Diego’s Oncofertility team on projects focused on survivorship care and financial navigation in oncology. As an Imperial County native, Lourdes is deeply committed to advancing health equity, social justice, and reducing barriers to cancer care for the communities she serves. Outside of work, Lourdes enjoys spending time with her family and pets, traveling, and listening to music.
